''Machanents'' International Art Symposium 2018

''THE COLOR OF WINE''
October 1-7

   This is the 4th year that ''Machanents'' International Art Symposium is held by Cross of Armenian Unity NGO with the support of Machanents Tourism and Art social enterprise, Innovative Ethnic Regional Centre and the Municipality of Ejmiatsin.
The symposium  of  2018, is devoted to the creation of wine. Patriarch Noah planted the first grape vine at the foot of the Mount Ararat after the flood. This is the place where Armenian spiritual center Ejmiatsin, is situated. Machanents symposium will be held in this city.
On the first day of the symposium, artists  will make wine in a traditional way, and then "World Artists’ Wine Museum " will be founded.



 October 8 is the birthday of Ejmiatsin city. The artists who will stay till that day, they will have an opportunity to participate to  the 2703th anniversary of the city. 


1.   About the symposium
The goal of the symposium is:
v    To make an opportunity for foreign and Armenian artists to meet and share their experience.
v    To replenish the collection of the International Art gallery founded in Ejmiatsin promoting intercultural dialogue.

          The participants of the symposium will get known with the Armenian culture, they will witness the working process of  Khachkar master (Cross Stone) , carpet and rug maker, sculptor and painter
           The official opening of the exhibition of the works created during the symposium will be held 
Representatives from the spiritual class, official guests, cultural figures and celebrities, medias will be present at the opening of the exhibition.

2.   Participants’ selection and the criterias
The ones who wantto participate should send the filled application form, 1 photo and portfolio of minimum 10 paintings’ photos to machanentssymposium@gmail.com .
After receiving your application the electoral commission of Machanents International Art Symposium will answer you within 15 working days.




3.   The terms of the symposium
Organizer  provides: 
·         Transfer from the airport to the hotel and vice versa
·         7 days stay at the hotel
·         3 meals a day
·         Unlimited coffee and tea

NEW TOUR DIRECTIONS  WILL BE OFFERED TO THE ARTISTS WHO HAD ALREADY BEEN AT THE NOTED PLACES

The participant should
·         pay the participation fee-200$
·         care about the flight cost
·         care about the visa cost /if needed/
·         bring his/her paints and brushes
·         grant 2 paintings, born during the symposium, to the international gallery.

Where will the participants stay?
The accommodation of the participants is provided by the supporter of the symposium «Machanents Tourism and Art» social enterprise։ The participants will stay at the comfortable rooms of ''Machanents'' Guesthouse ''Machanents'' Hotel

The Participants will paint at Machanents garden located in the centre of Ejmiatsin.

The topic of the painting is free.
