''Machanents'' 5th International
Art Symposium is organized by Cross of
Armenian Unity Cultural Charitable NGO with the support of “Machanents
Tourism and Art” social
enterprise, Innovation Ethnic
Regional Centre and “Arpinet” LLC.
1.
ABOUT THE SYMPOSIUM
The goal of the symposium is:
· - To make an opportunity for foreign and Armenian artists to meet and share their experience.
- To replenish the collection of the International Art gallery founded in Ejmiatsin promoting intercultural dialogue.
The
symposium of this year is entitled “THE
KISS OF BRUSHES”.
The
grandfather of the founders of “Machanents” symposium Grigor Machanents and
Endza liked to kiss and for that reason people called him “Machanents”. The
word “Mach” in one of Armenian dialects means a kiss (“Machan” means a kissing
man). In honor of the great master of love, the symposium is called
“Machanents”. During the symposium, the participants will leave the trace of
their lips and will write a note in a special kiss book. It will later be
placed in the museum of Cross of Armenian Unity.
The
official opening of the exhibition of the works created during the
symposium will be held on the last day of the symposium (August 20). Works will also be posted in the online catalog․
Official
guests, cultural figures and celebrities, Mass Media will be present at the
opening of the exhibition.
2. SELECTION OF
PARTICIPANTS AND THE CRITERIA
Only artists
who has never participated in the previous 4 symposiums will have an
opportunity to apply for ”Machanents” 5th
International Art Symposium.
We are grateful to all the participants of the previous symposiums and look
forward to seeing them during the exhibition opening ceremony.
The artists should send their CV (Résumé), 1 photo and a
portfolio consisting of 10 paintings to the following email address: machanentssymposium@gmail.com.
After receiving your application, the electoral commission of “Machanents”
International Art Symposium will answer you within 15 working days.
3.
THE TERMS OF THE SYMPOSIUM FOR FOREIGN ARTISTS
Organizer provides:
· Transfer from the airport to the
hotel and vice versa
· 7 days stay at the hotel
· 3 meals a day
· Unlimited coffee and tea
· 2 canvases
· Cultural evenings
· Participation certificate
· Excursions:

The participant should
· Pay the participation fee-200$
· Cover the flight cost
· Cover the visa cost /if
needed/
· Bring paints and brushes
· Grant 2 paintings, created during the symposium, to “Machanents” international gallery.

Where will the participants stay?
The accommodation of the
participants is provided by the supporter of the symposium “Machanents Tourism and Art” social enterprise.The participants will stay at
the comfortable rooms of ''Machanents'' Guesthouse and “Machanents” Art Hotel. They will
share rooms meant for 4, 3, 2 people.
